Entering Your Canaan’s Land!

Entering your Canaan’s land! : by James Lantz

Canaan’s land is the land that Jehovah promised Abram that He would give to his descendants. Genesis 12:7  YLT  And Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land; ‘and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.  God hand picked this glory of lands for His people to live in and to serve Him from. When Moses sent men to go and see what this land was like the men brought back figs, pomegranates, and a cluster of grapes so large that two men carried it on a pole.  Num. 13:27   And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.  You and I know this to be the nation of Israel, reestablished May 14th, 1948. This precious real estate was given to those called Israelites whom God chose, revealed His glory to, brought the written word of God through, and gave us Jesus the living word! For over three thousand years travelers and merchants traveling from Africa, Europe, Russia, and Asia all traveled through this natural land bridge hearing about the miracle working God. The Almighty God raises up the humble and puts down the proud as He did in the drowning of Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea and destroyed nations for Israel’s sake.  Deut. 7:1  When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou.  Cannan’s land represents the best of the best, including choice real estate, granting you the ability and the visibility to fulfill your assignment!

Canaan’s land is not a type of heaven but rather a type of heaven on earth!

Some have the opinion that in this new covenant every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus relegates every blessing to our future in heaven. Canaan’s land is a type and a shadow of every good thing God blesses His obedient children with in this present life. Heaven will be a place of greater glory and additional rewards for those who overcome by faith obeying God to completion. Old and new testament saints are rewarded for their faith and obedience both on earth and in heaven. God has not changed, He is still a rewarder of those who believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. It is very obvious that Canaan’s land is not a type of heaven. There will be no battles to fight when we get to heaven. There will be no obstacles ( walled cities, iron chariots, or giants ) to overcome in heaven. There will not be any demons in heaven. It is while we are here in this life that we have obstacles to overcome and giants to conquer.  Rev. 12:11 NLT  And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. Canaan’s land for the new testament believer is every blessing in Christ!   Salvation is for every person who will humble themselves and call out to God to be saved! The baptism in the Holy Ghost is available to all who receive Christ Jesus as Lord and obey Him!  Acts 5:32  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.  Christ purchased healing for us through his redemptive sacrifice available to all who will receive.  1 Pet. 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  Deliverance from bondages including demonic bondages.  Mark 16:17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils . . .    Protection from accidents, assassins, arrows, and every evil work of the enemy!  Ps. 91:7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.  Prosperity is ours in this new covenant as well!  God never said He wanted us to be poor. God said that He did not want us to love money or things which is being covetous! Their is so much covetousness in the earth today which is idolatry. Unfortunately there is still much covetousness in the church as well, which makes it an act of mercy for God not to turn the power up, causing  people to drop dead like Ananias and Sapphira. God gives us richly all things to enjoy, not to love. I have purposed not to use the word love for the things of this world. I love God and I love people! The problem is not with us having abundance and nice things but with abundance and nice things being too important to us or being a god to us. One way to tell if money and things are too important to you is if you are unwilling to give them up when God asks you to. The rich young ruler went from being very excited to sadly walking away when Jesus wanted him to liquidate his assets, give to the poor and come join his ministry team. Money and things are tools for us to use to advance the kingdom of God not something we set our love on.  Mt. 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  God’s will is for us to abound unto every good work and you can not abound unto every good work being poor. Jesus didn’t become poor so that we could be more poor.            2 Cor. 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. The very first thing Jesus stated that He came to do was preach the gospel to the poor! The gospel is good news, it is the word of God, it is the blessing of the Lord. Your prosperity starts with your agreeing with God’s word.  Ps. 33:4  . . . the word of the Lord is right . . .   God’s word will set your doctrine straight, reprove you, correct you, instruct you in righteousness and empower you to prosper! God’s word will show you what is right and it is the power of God to save, fill you with the Holy Ghost, heal, deliver, protect, and prosper you! The kingdom of God is established in your life as you plant the word of God in your heart, meditate on it, and act it out in your life.

The first generation of Israelites who were delivered from Egyptian bondage all heard the preached word about the promised land that flows with milk and honey. They witnessed the power of God in the ten plagues against Pharaoh and the Egyptians and when it was dark in Egypt there was light in Goshen. They all believed for protection from the destroyer and they were all healed that night. They all were made rich as they asked the Egyptians for precious items! They all were guided by the cloud by day and they all passed through the sea on dry ground and they all ate the same spiritual food and they all drank from the spiritual rock which was Christ.

Why were Joshua and Caleb the only two that believed to see and possess their promised land?

We see that God’s pattern and purpose has always been to bless every one of His children! Moses gave a charge to that second generation of Israelites commanding them to remember to keep all of God’s words when they came into their promised land so that their days would be prolonged and that things would go well with them and their children.   Deut. 6:10&11  And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full.  Deut. 6:12  Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.  We of course have the privilege of learning from God’s report of what happened to Israel so that we do not make the same mistakes that kept the majority of that first generation from their promised land.

1 Cor. 10:6  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.  The Holy Spirit continues to warn us that lusting, idolatry, fornication, murmuring and complaining, are all manifestations of unbelief and will keep us from our promised blessings as well.

We have a better covenant with better promises than Israel had! We have been removed from the kingdom of darkness (type of Egypt) and brought into the kingdom of His dear Son. As we follow the Holy Spirit’s leading  and continue to believe and obey God we will be led right into our Canaan’s land blessings.

  1. Salvation!                       Jesus is God’s precious gift to redeem us from Satan’s grip!
  2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit!   Jesus will baptize those that are His with the Holy Spirit!
  3. Healing of the body!          Healing for our bodies is ours through redemption!
  4. Deliverance!                    Submission to God comes first, then we are empowered to resist the devil!
  5. Protection!                     Draw near to God and declare that He is your protector!
  6. Prosperity!                     Realize that prosperity is not to be earned but received through faith!
  7. Long life!                       Length of days is in wisdom’s right hand and riches and honour in the left!
