Precious Seed: by James Lantz
The whole kingdom of God functions by the planting of a seed for the purpose of reaping a harvest! God Himself operates in this manner by planting a seed for His desired harvest. He patterned earth after the way things function in heaven and goes into great detail explaining how much of His creation will reproduce after its kind. Gen. 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. We might as well accept the fact that if we are to be fruitful (prosper) we are going to have to whole heartedly embrace the sowing, watering, cultivating, and reaping lifestyle that God has laid out for us. Gen. 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. The reason you sow a precious seed is because the seed you have is not the total fulfillment of what you desire. The seed is good and the fact that it will produce the very likeness of itself demands that we sow our very best seed. God warns us not to diss Him by offering a lame sacrifice! Jesus declared that the whole kingdom of God is like a man sowing seed upon the earth. Mark 4:26 NLTse Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground.” Many people have quit God because they didn’t see the full manifestation of their harvest in the short little window of time they thought they should! Job 8:7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. The scripture says that God opens his hand and satisfies the desire of every living thing. Many times what God offers seems so small and insignificant to us but its greatness is hidden in the form of a seed. God’s greatest gift
God sowed His precious seed when He sowed Jesus into the earth!
to fallen man is salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the precious seed of God, the word made flesh, conceived by Mary through faith by power of the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:38 And Mary said, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” And the angel departed from her. God wanted a family made in His image, in His very own likeness, a new creation that never existed before, one who would be righteous like the Lord Jesus, one whose spirit the Holy Spirit would indwell. God, through the sowing of His precious seed, is reaping sons and daughters that overcome the evil one and rule and reign with Jesus. Eph. 2:6 WEY-NT raised us with Him from the dead, and enthroned us with Him in the heavenly realms as being in Christ Jesus Rev. 21:7&8 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. After raising Jesus from the dead, God never refers to him as his only begotten Son anymore. Jesus is now called the second Adam, the firstborn from the dead, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, KING of KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS! God sowed his most precious holy seed, his only begotten Son, to reap many precious sons and daughters! Truths to glean about planting precious seed: The seed must be your very best because the harvest you reap will never be of a higher quality than of the seed you have sown. Every seed produces after its own kind! The value you place on the harvest is equal to the value of the seed only it will be multiplied. God has shown the same love for us that He has for Jesus! John 17:23 . . . thou . . . hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me. God expects us to esteem others better than ourselves as He set the example by esteeming us over Jesus. This does not mean that others are better than us (and we certainly are not better than Jesus) but we are to esteem them better than ourselves. God certainly will not withhold any good thing from us or He would have withheld Jesus from us. Rom. 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Throughout the word of God you will read about giving and receiving, sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting, and crucifying the flesh and reaping of the Spirit. The wise person will sow what he can not keep to gain what he can not lose! Your life is a seed! Because of sin and the curse of the law the best we
Give your life to Jesus and receive eternal life!
could reap (without Jesus) is a few natural days on the earth filled with sensual pleasures and then judgement for all of eternity. Jesus bore the judgement and paid the penalty for sin for all those who sow their lives to Him! Your life is considered very precious to God and should be very precious to you. Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. When we give our lives to Christ Jesus then we are not our own but we belong to Him. This is the best deal ever to be offered and all who die to self receive eternal life. God says that whoever will give their corrupt selves to Him will be recreated into a righteous new creature. This new life in Christ is made possible through receiving the seed of God’s word (Jesus) by faith. Phil. 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Jesus did all the hard part! We are buried with Christ when we are baptized into the body of Christ and risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God who raised Christ from the dead. This is exciting and awesome but it does not stop there! Every word from God is a precious seed and when received into the righteous human heart through faith will produce that which God has said! Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. God is looking for an honest and good heart among his people in which he can manifest His glory in this earth. Pastor, are you saying that some of God’s people are not honest and good in their heart. No, Jesus said that some quit believing in a time of temptation, some are worried and fearful and covetous (love the things of this world more than God) and that these are the reasons that many fail to receive the reward. The book of James is written to christians. James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. We only have one life to give and that makes it very precious to us! God has paid an awesome price to redeem us and therefore we know He values us very highly. Come on saints, lets pull out all the stops, lets give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord! Let’s finish our race with joy knowing we have given our all in all! This is the day that the Lord has made, lets rejoice and be glad!
