Vision’s Role In Our Healing! By James L Lantz
Without vision people will perish. I like to flip that around and say, with a vision people flourish and with God’s vision for our life our flourishing will continue throughout all of eternity. Pro. 29:18 AMPC Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. The Hebrew word translated vision includes the meaning of sight, dream, and revelation and the amplified translation helps bring this out. The Hebrew word that is translated perish in this same verse includes the meaning of, too dismiss, avoid, and go back. When our eyes are opened to the fact that Jesus bore our sicknesses we must purpose to receive this grace also. Mt. 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Remember, God’s grace is received through faith! When God’s people were discouraged in the wilderness and complained against God and against Moses they were bitten by fiery serpents and many died. They came to Moses and repented, saying, we have spoken against the Lord and against you, pray that the Lord will take away the serpents from us. God’s mercy is great to those who repent! When Moses prayed for the people the Lord instructed Moses in what he was to do and what the people must do in order to be healed. Numbers 21:9 AMPC And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a pole, and if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze [attentively, expectantly, with a steady and absorbing gaze], he lived. This amplified translation brings out that there is a specific way in which they were to look at the serpent on the pole.
Believe That He Is God And That He Will Reward You!
Similarly our gaze must be fixed on Jesus (The Word Of God) and not on our pain or illness. We must believe that Jehovah Rapha is the God who heals and that He will reward us with healing! This is not hard to believe since it is an historical fact that Jesus lived, hung on the cross, and died. We have eye witness accounts of those who saw Him after He arose from the dead. Jesus never told anyone that God did not want them to be healed and He always healed everyone who came to Him for healing. Mt. 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Mt. 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. This leper believed that Jesus was anointed to heal the sick but no power flowed from Jesus hands into his body until he believed His words, I will. Jesus hasn’t changed, He is still saying, I will. Believing is a choice! Everybody believes something but only the redeemed will be like Him when He appears and we see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. The very next verse indicates that only those who are eagerly and confidently expecting the Master’s return will have their bodies changed to be like His glorified body in that moment. 1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. This glorious hope that we have in Christ appearing is based on the Living, Eternal, Word of God, not some wishful, desirous fantasy. Phil. 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. This same Bible which speaks of that coming day when our current vile body will be gloriously changed in a moment also reveals God’s provision for the healing of our mortal bodies. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
When we said yes to the Father’s will and received salvation through Jesus the Christ, we were saying yes to God’s will for our life. We entered into covenant with the heavenly Father by dying to self and receiving eternal life through Christ. The Spirit of God instantly removed us from the kingdom of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of God’s dear Son. The Father’s expectation for us is that we be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. He wants us strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. God’s vision for us does not stop at delivering us from death and destruction but has raised us up to rule and reign with Jesus. Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. We need to grab hold of what the Spirit of God is saying to us in this scripture when He says “much more”. God is telling us that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is much more powerful than the law of sin and death which separated all of man kind from the life of God through Adam’s disobedience. There is enough power in Christ sacrificial death and resurrection to forgive every sin and heal every disease and make every person righteous before God and much more! God’s grace is an empowerment to overcome death, sin, sickness, and all evil. Romans 5:17 GNT It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God’s abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ. Jesus purchased our redemption with His blood and He is the firstborn of many brethren. All things were made by Him and all things were made for Him and by Him all things consists. Col. 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. This word preeminence means to be first in rank or influence. If we have strayed from putting God’s vision for our life first and began to pursue another vision we have removed ourselves from Jesus Lordship and open
The Word Of God Is To Have Preeminence In Everything!
ourselves to destruction. We are warned not to lust after evil things, not to commit fornication, nor murmur, like those who were delivered from bondage but had not yet experienced the promised land. 1 Cor. 10:5&6 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. The Spirit of God goes on to say that we must not be idolaters as some of them were. The writers of the new covenant make it abundantly clear that only those who give Jesus His rightful place of preeminence enjoy the Blessing of the Lord! Doctor Luke writes that everyone, without exception, who refuses to listen to that Prophet (Jesus) shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. Many in the church are weak and sickly and even incapacitated or dying early because of their irreverence towards the body of Christ. 1 Cor. 11:29&30 WNT For any one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgement to himself, if he fails to estimate the body aright. That is why many among you are sickly and out of health, and why not a few die.
Prophecy: In August, 2003 Bro. Kenneth E.Hagin prophesied about how you can be sure to be a part of this present day, end time revival. “ Sit and say let it come and nothing will happen but rejoice and arise and leap into the water to swim and the rain will come and the glory will fall and the healings will come! “
