Psalms 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Delight Yourself In The Lord! : By James L Lantz
No one can delight themselves in the Lord for you or for me. This is something that we do from a heart of love for Him and in obedience to His command. The thirty seventh Psalm starts by telling us not to fret or be envious of evildoers because very soon they will be cut down like grass. If this is the only scripture we have about doing evil we would know that it ends in death. Then we are exhorted to trust in the Lord and do good which allows us to dwell in the land and to be fed. Next is our key-note scripture. Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. The Lord has a plan and a purpose for each of His children! Our greatest joy is to please our heavenly Father! Don’t stop with delighting in the Lord, but be sure to commit your way unto Him and trust Him so He can bring the desires of your heart to pass. The Hebrew word translated delight in the above scripture means to be soft and pliable, effeminate or luxurious, delicate, and sport self. Being obstinate and unbelieving is the very opposite of being soft and pliable and will absolutely block us from receiving the God given desires of our heart. The psalmist refers to God’s word as his delight and his counsellors. Psalms 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
There is a similar Hebrew word translated delighteth in the thirty seventh Psalm and other places. Delighteth includes the meaning of, to incline, to bend, to be pleased with, desire, to be well pleased (to have pleasure), or to will. Ps. 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Ps. 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. God is always looking at the heart and delighting greatly in obeying His commandments brings the blessing! As we read God’s word each day we learn the fear of the Lord and are mindful to do that which is required of us! (Deut. 17:19) This next scripture again points to God taking pleasure in the one who’s heart is toward Him and is expecting of His goodness! Ps. 147:10&11 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. God expects us to be joyfully and excitedly looking forward to the reward He gives for serving Him! Do your work heartily as unto the Lord, and be cheerful in your giving! The Blessing brings raises and promotions to those who do their work well, but there is more! The Blessing of Abraham redeems us from the curse of the law, meaning spiritual death, sickness, and poverty. God’s expectation of having a people who will serve Him with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all has not changed. Deut. 28:47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; The very next thing God reveals is that refusing to serve Him after the manner He prescribes is choosing to serve our enemy. Our enemy is satan and every time he comes around he’s looking to steal, kill, and destroy. The Lord instructed us to choose life! Taking the high road requires diligence but sweet is the reward! Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: The next verse says that He is our life, He is the one that sustains us to live a full life and experience blessings. Having a right relationship with our Lord and Master is vital for receiving healing! Holding grudges against others will absolutely nullify our prayers. Deuteronomy 30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. The Lord Jesus became a curse for us so that the blessing of Abraham might come on us through Him, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. We are exhorted to abide in Jesus and keep His words in our heart because without Him we can do nothing. Choosing to abide in Christ is choosing life, it’s choosing to walk in righteousness, health, and abundance! In Christ we live, and move, and have our being. Col. 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Col. 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Walking in the Spirit keeps us from walking after the flesh. Galatians 5:16 & 17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. It is an amazing strategy that works every time! As we continually do the right thing there is no time to do the wrong thing. While we are meditating on what God said we won’t be thinking about what the devil said. While we are with the right people we aren’t with the wrong people. As we walk by faith according to what God said we go forward fully expecting that which is unseen to manifest in this natural world. Continuing in faith with our eyes on the prize, we refuse to be moved by contradicting circumstances. 2 Cor. 5:7 ESV for we walk by faith, not by sight. A life of faith pleases
God! Noah and his family believed the word of the Lord year after year as they continued building the ark that would lift them above the destruction that was to come upon the earth. Today, we, as co laborers with the Lord are building God’s church which is soon to be lifted out of this world prior to the coming destruction of God’s enemies. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. John tells us the same thing, when Jesus appears we will be changed to be just like the Master. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. The very next thing John writes is, everyone who has this confident expectation makes himself clean for the Lord’s coming! John writes in Revelation of how the Lord allowed him to see that which was prepared for those who would purify themselves and be ready at His appearing.
Rev. 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Rev. 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
This purifying of ourselves in preparation for the marriage supper of the Lamb sounds like foolishness to the carnal person but the spiritual man is discerning. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. God’s MO for deliverance includes having it decreed by His prophets and steps of obedience given to the people! God told Moses to prepare, I Am coming on the third day.
Exodus 19:10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, Noah and his family separated themselves from sin and built the ark! Delight yourself in the Lord and in the work to which you are called!
Be Quick to hear, Quick to believe, Quick to obey, Quick to forgive, and Quick to repent!

REMEMBER TO USE GOD’S METHODS TO OBTAIN HIS RESULTS!
Update On The Lands And Building Project!
The Lord has given us clarity on the the design of the church building and location of the driveway. Driveway permit process has brought some PennDot requested revisions. We are on revision #3 as of June and hoping this will be the last revision. PennDot has a 30 day window in which they respond to revisions and we are expecting permit soon! PRAISE THE LORD!
Investors will share in the reward for every salvation, every backslider who comes back to God, every one who receives the baptism in the Holy Spirit, every person healed, delivered and restored, instructed and trained in the way of righteousness through this ministry. Jesus stated that where our treasure is, there will our heart be also. Our heart follows that which we value highly. David set his affection on God’s house and prepared for the building of God’s house with all his might and he finished well. Every seed we sow into kingdom projects secures a reward for us in heaven and brings forth a harvest in the earth after it’s own kind, plus we are keeping our heart close to God. God loves His people and will not with hold any good thing from those that love Him and are joined to His purposes. All who value our Lord’s command to not lay up treasure
on earth for ourselves must keep our motivation for accumulation of wealth to be for distribution!
You can have a part in this great work regardless of your current financial status. God is looking for people who are willing to give from what they have! Jesus will take the little and make it into a lot! In the scriptures we hear things like, what do you have in your house, or give according to what you have and not according to what you don’t have. Paul praises the liberality of those in the Macedonia churches who gave cheerfully even though they were experiencing much lack in their own lives. 2 Cor. 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. Paul then tells how they intreated him to please receive their gift! God was pleased with their faith and willingness to give from the little that they had. If we have desire but have nothing to give, God wants us to ask Him for seed. The same God who gives us food to eat, and multiplies the seed we have sown, is the God who gives seed to the sower. 2 Corinthians 9:10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;
This is good news! God is looking at our heart and not at how much we have or don’t have in our earthy account. Jesus said, I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against My church. You and I both know that gates are stationary, they do not charge anybody. We are the ones who charge the gates of hell where satan has bound those who are waiting to hear the truth that makes one free!
