The Wise Man Builds! : By James L Lantz
Building your life on the sure foundation of the Word of God guarantees that you will not be swept away into ruin when the storms of life come at you. Mt. 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Jesus is the rock, He is the Word of God, He is the chief cornerstone, the rock from which we were hewn and the stone whom the builders rejected. Paul experienced a great heaviness and continual sorrow for his Israelite kinsmen who rejected the Word of God. You can be born into the household of faith, grow up in the church, and still be lost! Salvation can only be received by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord! No father or mother nor Pastor or Priest can pray that prayer of commitment for you. The Israelites were all natural descendants of Abraham, but many rejected Jesus, the Word of God who was manifested in the flesh. God adopted Israel calling them His son, revealed His glory through them and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises, Romans 9:5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. After all this grace was bestowed on the Israelites and they being the ones through whom Christ came many rejected the Word of God! Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. The first step to build your life on the Word of God is to acknowledge that Jesus is our righteousness and declare Him to be your Lord! Realize that the sayings of Jesus includes all that God commands and not just that which is written in red.
Let Your Zeal Be According To Knowledge!
John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. Immediately prior to Jesus teaching us how the wise man builds his house on a rock He mentions that workers of iniquity will be lost. Mt. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Jesus then warns that there will be many who will stand before Him on judgement day saying how they prophesied, cast out devils and did many good works in His name but they are not His. They are not true believers because they are workers of iniquity. Iniquity is sin that people persist in over and over which differs from those who accidentally slipped into sin and when they recognized what they were doing (or not doing) repented and turned from it. Mt. 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Don’t be foolish but rather be a doer of the word of God! John writes in Revelation of the blessing on the one who reads and hears the prophecy and keeps that which is written therein! The next step in building your life on the Word of God requires you to hunger and thirst to know that which is written! Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Are you spending time reading and studying God’s word or do you value other things more? The Blessing of the Lord comes on those who refuse to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way with sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful, but rather delight themselves in the word of the Lord. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which brings forth his fruit in his season, his leaf not withering, and whatever he does prospers. The writer of Proverbs reveals how God rewards those who attentively tend to His sayings by giving them life and health!
Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Attending to God’s word by hearing, reading, meditating, saying, and doing are all part of building your life on the word of God which cannot fail. Building is an action word an we are the ones who do the word. Prayer is right, prayer is a precious privilege, but it will do us no good to pray and ask God to do for us what He told us to do. The building part is our responsibility, we are to open our eyes and our ears, and when we know God’s word we are to open our mouth and speak the word of the Living God. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. The wise man is the one who does the word of God! James writes that we are to be doers of the word and not hearers only! As we are continually speaking and meditating what God said it will be fresh on our minds to do it! God’s Kingdom operates by law, we have to do what the word says to receives the Blessing!
What is it that you need from God? If you need peace ask the Lord to show what you need to do or what you need to quit doing. Or perhaps it’s just the enemy bringing evil imaginations to your mind hoping that you will agree with him by speaking it out in fear or acting like it is so. Tell the devil, no you don’t, I am walking in the Spirit and not after the flesh. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. The peace of God acts as our umpire letting us know that we are right with Him!
Do you need an increase in income? The Lord blesses those who fear Him! Psalms 115:14 The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. God opens the windows of heaven over the tither, pours out a blessing, protects you from evil, and rebukes the devourer so you don’t lose your wages. You must believe that God will do this for you and He will honor His word! Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The Blessing on the tither causes your seed sown to enter into the multiplication process. By sowing offerings into the work of God you set yourself up for great increases, 30, 60, a hundred fold, and more! A man’s need is met with a seed!
Do you need healing? The good news is that Jesus heals them all and has already purchased your healing through His sacrificial offering of Himself! You have the easy part which is to believe that you receive your healing. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Dr. Landis and his wife Barbara are both natives of Harrisburg area of Pennsylvania. Pastor Landis graduated from Lower Dauphin High School. He served his country in the Army in the early 70’s and after his obligation was up, he sensed the call into the ministry and attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a school founded by Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin.
After graduating from Rhema in 1977, he returned to Harrisburg and started a church named Word Fellowship, a faith based church located in the city of Harrisburg. The church grew to about 1,000 attendees throughout the 1980’s and has continued to grow today as Life Center Ministries. During this time of growth, he continued his formal education by obtaining a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Christian International University of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
Pastor Dave took a sabbatical from the ministry in the late 80’s. After time of rest, he and his wife Barbara started Word Of Grace Ministries. This church has grown over the past 29 years into around 250-300 attendees.
With over 40 years of pastoral experience, as well as various teaching opportunities in local Bible training centers and traveling opportunities throughout Eastern Europe, India, Puerto Rico, Russia, Haiti, and the Philippines, Pastor Dave continues to lead this congregation into the future.

You Can Only Believe As Far As You Know!
Peter writes how grace and peace are multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: We have knowledge of God through what God said in His word! Jesus did so much more for us that is yet to be tapped into. Those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life! Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. We now know that grace and peace are multiplied unto us through God’s knowledge and God desires us to receive abundance of His grace through His gift of righteousness! The Spirit of God through Paul exhorts us to abound in the grace of giving! Obviously some have stepped into this grace in greater degrees than others but God wants us all to abound in the grace of giving!
2 Cor. 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
Know this truth, whatever good thing that you do in service as to the Lord, the same shall you receive from the Lord. Eph. 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. This principle of receiving a harvest of like kind from what you have sown is repeated throughout scripture!
– Every seed produces after it’s kind! – Give and it shall be given unto you! – The same measure that you use will be measured back to you, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give to you. – Whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that receive them and you shall have them.
– When you sow into the lands and building fund you are sowing towards reaping lands and buildings of your own. This could include additions, remodeling, and expansion in other ways! The miracle of the seed sown is increase, multiplication, supply, and more seed to sow!
