Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Love Him! : By James L Lantz
Love is a matter of the heart and of utmost importance to our God, who is love. He commands us to love Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind, and all of our strength! It is only right for The Almighty to require us to reciprocate our love to Him since He redeemed us by giving us His only begotten Son! God is love and His Kingdom operates by love! Our God is the greatest Lover of all time and He will receive great love from all those to whom He has shown great mercy! Ephesians 2:4 – 6 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Everyone that is baptized into the body of Christ has received the Spirit of love. All of the fruit of the Spirit became ours the moment we became a new creature in Christ Jesus and love heads up the list. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. God put loving Him as the very first commandment when giving Moses His top ten and Jesus later confirmed this to be number one for us as
Loving God Is Our Number One Priority!
well. Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. The command to love the Lord our God is repeatedly emphasized all through the word of God! Moses wrote that loving the Lord your God and keeping His commandments will cause you to live and multiply in that place where He called you! Deut. 30:16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. Joshua 23:11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. The psalmist writes, love the LORD, all you saints, for He preserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer. Those who set their love on Him allow and authorize God to do for them what He cannot do for those who don’t love Him! Ps. 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Paul reveals how God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose when they pray in the Holy Ghost. Romans 8:26-28 . . . And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Believing God is the way to
victory! Remember, God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn us, but those who believe not are condemned already. For by grace are we saved through faith!
God graciously gave us instructions on how to love Him with numerous examples from those who faithfully served Him! Abraham was called God’s friend because he was obedient to act on what God said! James 2:22 NLT You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. James clarifies further in saying that just as the body is dead without the spirit, so faith without obedient actions is dead also. James is also the one who said, be doers of the word and not hearers only! The letter to the Hebrews reveals a number of those who loved God and acted on His word! Able offered up to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Noah was moved with fear and prepared the ark to the saving of his house. Abraham, when he was called, left his homeland without knowing where God was sending him. Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, and chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. God called David a man after His own heart because he would fulfill all His will. Acts 13:22 . . . to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. God expects us to actually do what we were created to do! Doing the will of the Father is the way we show our love to Him and the way to be blessed! Jesus said, If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:24 He that loveth me
We Love God By Doing His Will!
not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. Many who say they love God but continue to do what they know is wrong will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Mt. 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. The apostle of love defined real love as being done in deed and in truth! 1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Glad Obedience Brings Rich Blessing!
Jesus said, I will liken him unto a wise man who hears My words and does them! No one can bypass this Kingdom principle and be blessed of God. The principle is this, put God’s things first and then He will bless you in getting those things that you need and desire. Mt. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. This is a heart issue because many people are not interested in building God’s kingdom, they only want their needs met. People can try to get ahead with their own agenda but sadly the curse gets on them because they failed to give Jesus the preeminence in everything. In the time of Haggai the prophet, God’s people got caught up in putting their things ahead of God’s things. They rallied together and rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem in fifty two days under Nehemiah’s leadership. Then they built or rebuilt their own homes and somehow years had passed while God’s house still lies in ruins. They weren’t necessarily against rebuilding God’s temple but it just was not a priority to them. God spoke to their leaders through Haggai the prophet saying, the people are saying it isn’t the right time to build My house, but I see they have built their houses with nice decorative ceilings. God is not against us having a nice house, He is against us being covetous and putting our houses before His house! So the word of The Lord came saying, Consider your ways. Haggai 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. God is saying, how is it working out for you, you don’t have time and money to build My house so the money you coveted for yourself is going to pay the carriage repair man and doctor and dentist bills. These people received correction from the word of the Lord and they got to building God’s house! As they obeyed the word of The Lord and began to build God’s house they received a comforting word from God’s messenger and were refreshed by the Spirit of God!

A Storm Is Coming – Batten Down The Hatches!
We are headed into a season of intense warfare on many fronts – economic, political, and spiritual. But the Lord is a man of war, and He knows exactly how to strategize against and overcome every assault against His people and against His Truth.
But just as one should batten down the hatches in a time of storms, God’s people must be mentally and spiritually prepared for a stormy season that lies directly ahead. However, with the grace of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, the promises of God’s Word, and the weaponry He has given, we can move forward step by step with the strategic guidance of the Holy Spirit. And God will triumphantly lead His people forward and carry out His plans for this end-time age.
This is not a time to fear, moan, or cry, but a time to rejoice, for God is strategically at work even in ways you do not see. Although it may seem the enemy and those he is influencing are attempting to derail God’s purposes, remember that the One who sits in the heavens laughs at their plans, and He will ultimately have them in derision (see Psalm 2:4). God is a Man of War, and in the end, His purposes shall surely prevail!
