Matthew 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
Embrace The Light! By James L Lantz
Father God is a planner, planning for multitudes of children thousands of years before they came to Him! He is light and the Father of lights! Jesus came to shine light so we could see our way to the Father. John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. Jesus is the great light that Isaiah prophesied would come to shine among those who walked in darkness. Isaiah 9:2 NLT The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. God’s love for us compelled Him to send the redeemer so that none would have to be sentenced into eternal darkness. Unfortunately, many of
those who saw the great light of Jesus in His earthly ministry refused to come to the light, clinging to the darkness of their ways. His mighty preaching that the kingdom of God is near and that men are to repent was accompanied with mighty miracles verifying His authenticity. We must not be like many who discounted and disregarded the One who is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person. Heb. 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Jesus rebuked those in Chorazin and Bethsaida who cared not for Him, saying, the people in Tyre and Sidon would have repented long ago if these miracles had been done in their city. Jesus also rebuked those from Capernaum, where He made his home during His earthly ministry. Luke 10:15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
We live in a dark world today, but the light of Jesus shines through His people, the church. As lawlessness increases we are mindful of Paul’s prophetic word of how perilous times will come in the last days. 2 Timothy 3:2-5 NLT For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! That’s quite a list of things to avoid! Knowing what we should not embrace can help solidify in our minds that which we should embrace. The Spirit of God had Paul list the works of the flesh followed with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians

five. The works of the flesh bring loss, death, and destruction while the fruit of the Spirit brings life and life more abundantly. Galatians 5:22 WNT The Spirit, on the other hand, brings a harvest of love, joy, peace; patience towards others, kindness, benevolence; good faith, meekness, self-restraint. This fruit of the Spirit has become ours through God’s great mercy in sending Jesus to redeem us from our sins and bring us into God’s kingdom! There is no law against experiencing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self control! The good news is that everyone who is born from above already has all of these attributes (fruits) inside them in seed form. All who desire these fruits in their life may receive them freely by giving their life to Jesus. Love is awesome and God is love! Joy is wonderful, may your joy be full to over flowing! Peace is precious and the wise will make adjustments to experience it. Patience is necessary in receiving God’s promises. Heb. 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. All of the fruit of the Spirit is given that we might fulfill all the will of God and receive a full reward when we stand before Him! There is no law against experiencing God’s love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self control and neither will God force us to develop in His blessing. We can embrace either walking after the flesh or walking in the Spirit.
One definition of embrace is to accept or support something willingly and enthusiastically! God has revealed His kingdom methods from cover to cover in our owners manual. God told Cain, if you do well you will be accepted. Noah heard God’s voice and obeyed His instructions! Serving the Lord God with joyfulness and gladness of heart for the abundance of all keeps the curse off of us! ( see Deut. 28:47&48 ) Isaiah 1:19&20 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. God said this about David, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all My will! God is pleased when people come to Him. John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was quick to receive her assignment in bringing the Christ child into the earth! Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. There were about three thousand souls at Pentecost who gladly received Peter’s message to repent, and turn from the wickedness of this world, unto Christ. Acts 2:46&47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. The ones who should be saved are those who believe that Jesus is their Savior!
Embracing the Light is embracing Jesus and everything He is about! He is about bringing the God kind of life to human beings! Jesus is about pleasing His Father and building His church! Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! He is the One that brought you, your spirit, from heaven into your mother’s womb. John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. We are all God’s creation but we are not all God’s children! Jesus said to some Pharisees, you are of your father the devil. When little babies die they go to heaven, but when the young ones reach the age of accountability, sin is revived and they need to embrace Jesus, The Savior. Rom. 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. Our love for God is shown to be real by delighting in and doing those things which He commanded us. We who delight in keeping His commandments are studious to seek them out and meditate on them so we are ready to do them! Ps. 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. Embracing Jesus is embracing His mission of preaching and teaching this glorious gospel of the kingdom of God. Each of us are to be assisting our faithful Pastors, Teachers, and Ministers through prayers, serving, tithing, and giving offerings. There is no greater investment opportunity anywhere than in helping get the gospel out to people! The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth! Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Embracing Jesus is embracing His body, the church! 1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? EMBRACE HIS WORD, HIS MISSION, HIS BODY!

Prince Of Peace!
The prophetic word announcing Jesus birth and the multifaceted role He would preform in bringing God’s kingdom to the earth includes peace!
Isaiah 9:6&7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
So many people are searching for peace and He, The Prince of Peace, has come and gives peace to all who will receive Him! Jesus took our sins and gave us His righteousness so we could be at peace with the heavenly Father! This is what the multitude of angels were announcing by proclaiming peace, good will toward men at Jesus birth.
Luke 2:13&14 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
There will never be peace between the flesh, which is ruled by the sin nature, and the righteous spirit of those who are born from above. That is why God sent Jesus to set us free from the law of sin and death through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. There must be a turning away from sin and turning to Jesus and believing all that He accomplished for us through His suffering and resurrection to experience God’s peace.
Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
Rom. 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom. 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom. 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Rom. 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Remember, child of God, God will keep you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on
Him! Don’t worry about anything, but pray and let your requests be known unto God. And His peace, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Whatsoever things are true, honest, right, pure, lovely, of good report, if any virtue, think on these things.
