About Us

About Us

Our greatest desire is to see all people everywhere come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and walk in The Blessing! We reconnect with the heavenly Father the moment we believe that Jesus is the Christ and confess that Jesus is our Lord but our development is a process. God has ordained that His people would be loved, nurtured, fed, taught, protected and become fruitful in their local church.

James Lantz recognized and answered God’s call to preach and teach the glorious gospel of Christ in 1996. Brother Lantz has preached in township buildings, storefront buildings, local library, churches, homes, tent meetings, outdoor pavilions, outdoor courtyards, and in nursing homes through the years. Brother Lantz preaches that Jesus saves, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit, and that Jesus is coming again with a reward for those who serve Him. People have come to Christ, rededicated their lives to Christ, received healing in their bodies, received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and were strengthened in their faith through this ministry. Parkesburg Word Of Faith was founded to assist in our heavenly Father’s business of equipping and empowering His people through the preaching and teaching and demonstrations of the power of the gospel.

PARKESBURG WORD OF FAITH CHURCH is here for you!
We invite you to join us for services held at 501 Lenover Road, Parkesburg, PA 19365
Sunday Morning Worship at 10:00 AM
Wednesday evening prayer at 7:30 PM

It is a great privilege to have tasted of the goodness and mercy of God and to acknowledge through preaching, teaching, prophesying and sharing that the blessing of the Lord is for you as well. We, like Noah, have been warned by God of things to come and being moved with fear have set ourselves to the building of today’s ark, the church, for the saving of our house. We are laborers together with Christ in the building of His house. Our safety is not from being in the church building but rather connected to Christ body where we are nurtured, instructed, watched over, and fed the living word of God. We are committed to helping people turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan unto God through prayers, teaching, and serving. We are decreeing our redemption which includes forgiveness of sins and the inheritance that has been given us through Christ Jesus.

TENETS OF FAITH

1. The Scriptures Inspired-

The Bible is the Word of God, written by holy men of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, revealing God’s will for all mankind.

Psalms 119:89 – Isaiah 40:8 – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – 1 Peter 1:23-25 – Hebrews 4:12 – Matthew 5:18 – 1 Thessalonians 2:13 – 2 Peter 1:20&21 – John 17:17 – John 1:1-14

2. The Godhead: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit-

Our God is one, but manifested in three persons as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the one true, eternal, and Almighty God.

Genesis 1:26 – Deuteronomy 6:4 – Isaiah 43:10&11 – Joel 2:27 – Matthew 28:19 – Mark 12:29 – Isaiah 40:10-31 – 1 Timothy 6:15&16 – 1 John 5:7 – Phil. 2:6

God the Father is greater than all. He is the Sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter.

John 14:28 – John 16:28 – John 1:14 – 1 Corinthians 15:27 – Ephesians 4:6

The Son is the Word who became flesh, the One Begotten, and the One who has existed with the Father from the beginning. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin (Mary), He lived a sinless life, and died on the cross, rose again, and is alive forevermore.

John 1:1 – John 1:18 – John 1:14 – John 17:5 – Revelation 2:8

The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son, and is eternal.

John 14:16&17 – John 15:26 – John 16:13-15

3. Man: His Fall & Redemption-

Man was created good and upright, for God said: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Man by voluntary transgression, fell into sin and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Genesis 1:26-31 – Psalms 8:4-8 – Genesis 3:1-7 – Romans 3:23 – Romans 5:12-21 | 1 Timothy 2:14 | 1 Corinthians 15:21&22 | John 14:6 | 2 Corinthians 5:17

4. Faith in God-

Bible faith does not refer to what church you go to, or as some say (what faith are you?). Faith, like love, is of the heart and is necessary to receive the righteousness of God, which Jesus granted to us through the great exchange. Faith is given to the one who opens his ears and heart to God’s word. Faith is the avenue (way) through which we come to God and receive the rewards of those who diligently seek him. Faith, when released through our words and actions, causes God’s grace and promises to become ours. God is pleased when we honor Him and accept His gracious gifts!

Genesis 1:26-31 – Psalms 8:4-8 – Genesis 3:1-7 – Romans 3:23 – Romans 5:12-21 – 1 Timothy 2:14 – 1 Corinthians 15:21&22 – John 14:6 – 2 Corinthians 5:17

5. Salvation in the New Birth-

Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. When we become aware that Christ came to seek and save the lost, which we are (or were), we need to respond with a godly sorrow and repentance from dead works, because it is in Him that we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Our response is necessary to receive this salvation by grace through faith, knowing it is not of ourselves, but it is indeed a gift of God. We must believe with our heart (spirit) that God has raised Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus. The inward witness of the Holy Spirit confirms to our spirits that we are the children of God. The outward witness is a life lived in obedience to the will of God in all holiness by the power of the in-dwelling Christ.

John 3:16&17 – John 3:3-5 – John 10:7-11 – Luke 19:10 – Acts 4:12 – Acts 2:38 – 2 Corinthians 7:10 – Hebrews 6:1 – Hebrews 12:2 – Ephesians 1:7 – Ephesians 2:8 – Romans 10:9&10 – Romans 8:16 – 1 John 5:12&13 – John 14:23&24

6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit-

This is the promise of the Father that was given to the church on the day of Pentecost. All believers should desire and expect to receive this baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives them utterance. This was the normal experience of the early Christians as recorded in the book of Acts. With this baptism comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of God. This wonderful gift of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from and subsequent to the New Birth.

Matthew 3:11 – Luke 24:49 – Acts 1:4-8 – Acts 2:1-4 & 38&39 – Acts 10:44-46 – Acts 19:1-6 – John 14:16&17 – Joel 2:28&29 – Mark 16:17 – 1 Corinthians 12-14

7. Baptism in Water-

Our Lord Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. We also need to obey our Lord’s command to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Water baptism by immersion is an  outward sign of our being baptized into Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection; upon our confession of  faith.

Matthew 3:13-17 – Matthew 28:19 – Mark 16:16 – Acts 8:36-38 – Acts 10:47&48 – Acts 16:14&15 – Romans 6:3-5 – Colossians 2:12 – Galatians 3:27

8. The Lord’s Supper-

The ordinance of holy communion was instituted by our Lord Himself, and we are to observe it till He comes. The bread and the fruit of the vine represent the broken body and the shed blood of Jesus Christ. They are a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophesy of His Return. We are instructed to examine ourselves so that we can eat and drink in a worthy manner so as not to bring judgement on ourselves.

Luke 22:19&20 – Matthew 26:26-28 – Mark 14:22-25 – John 6:48-58 – 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

9. Sanctification-

The scriptures teach a life of holiness. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the word of God, and not be dominated by sin.

Hebrews 12:14 – 1 Peter 1:14-16 – 1 Thessalonians 5: 23&24 – 1 John 2:6 – Romans 8:1-11 – 1 Corinthians 1:30

10. Divine Healing-

Poverty, sickness, and spiritual death are part of the curse which came on mankind through Adam’s disobedience. Our Lord Jesus Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law (including sickness),having become a curse for us when He hung on the cross. All through the Bible, God has healed His people who walked uprightly and served Him. Isaiah’s prophecy that Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our pains was fulfilled through His substitutionary suffering, death, and resurrection. Jesus has become our high priest and watches over the confession of all who will receive this grace through faith. Jesus earthly ministry confirms our Father’s will to heal all who will receive.

Genesis 2:17 – Romans 5:12 – Romans 8:2 – Galatians 3:13&14 – Exodus 23:25 – Isaiah 53:4-6 – Matthew 8:16&17 – Matthew 9:29 – 1 Peter 2:24 – Mark 11:23&24 – James 5:14&15

11. Laying on of Hands-

We have the example of our Lord Jesus Christ who laid His hands on the little children to bless them and also laid His hands on the sick for the power of God to flow into them. The apostles laid hands on believers to receive the Holy Spirit. Prophets and teachers laid hands on Barnabas and Paul as part of the Holy Spirit’s commissioning them to a missionary assignment. We as believers are commissioned to lay hands on the sick for their recovery.

Hebrews 6:1&2 – Matthew 19:13 – Mark 1:41 – Luke 13:13 – Acts 8:18 – Acts 19:6 – Acts 13:3 – 2 Timothy 1:6 – Mark 16:18

12. Tithing & Giving-

Tithing and giving has always been an integral part of man’s relationship with God. By bringing God our tithes and offerings we acknowledge His place as our Creator, our Redeemer, and the One in whom we consist. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek, priest of the most high God, before the law was given and Christ confirms in the new Testament that we ought to tithe. Honoring God with our tithe allows Him to honor us by opening the windows of heaven and pouring out a blessing on us and rebuking the evil devourer from stealing our blessing. The scriptures teach that greater giving allows for greater harvest and lesser giving will mean a lesser harvest. Giving and receiving is God’s way. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that He could reap many sons!

Genesis 14:20 – Genesis 28:22 – Leviticus 27:30 – 2 Chronicles 31:5 – Malachi 3:8-10 – Matthew 23:23 – Luke 11:42 – Hebrews 6:20 – Hebrews 7:6-8 – John 3:16 – Proverbs 28:27 – Acts 10:4 – 2 Corinthians 9:6-10

13. The Church –

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointment for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit of God, is an integral part to the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, who’s names are written in heaven. In this New Covenant, we have been given the privilege of being workers with Him.

1 Corinthians 12:27 – 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 – Colossians 1:24&27 – Ephesians 1:22&23 – Ephesians 2:22 – Hebrews 12:23 – 2 Corinthians 6:1

14. Resurrection of the Just & the Return of our Lord-

Jesus is coming back for the just, in what we call the rapture of the church. He is coming in like manner as when He left. When He descends from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them  in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. At the end of seven years of tribulation, Christ will return to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to defeat the kings of the earth with their armies who are the enemies of God. Christ will capture the beast and false prophet and throw them alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone and rule for one thousand years with the saints.

Acts 1:11 – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 – 2 Thessalonians 2:1 – 1 Corinthians 15:51&52 – Titus 2:11-14 – Hebrews 9:28 – 1 John 3:2 – Revelation 19:11-14&20 – Revelation 20:6

15. Hell & Eternal Retribution-

The one who does not accept Christ’s salvation and dies in his sins will be hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and have no further opportunity of  repentance. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God.

Matthew 13:41&42 – Matthew 25:46 – Mark 16:16 – 1 John 5:12 – Luke 16:25&26 – Hebrews 9:27 – Revelation 19:20 – Revelation 20:10-15 – Revelation 21:1-3 – John 14:2&3 – 1 Corinthians 2:9 – Ephesians 2:7
