Christ mass  : by James Lantz

Christmas is the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. Jesus is the greatest gift that sinful man could ever be given. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. It was a good day when we recognized that Jesus bore our punishment and offered us his righteousness. It was a great day when we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Jesus Christ is Jesus the anointed one or Jesus the Messiah.

The English word Christ is not Jesus last name but rather a description of who he is. The word Christ includes the meaning of anointed and his anointing (to rub on or to smear all over) Jesus is the anointed one, the one that all the prophets spoke of who was coming to redeem his people. Jesus humbled himself, laying aside the powers of deity, becoming a man. Phil. 2:6&7 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  Jesus was born of a virgin (seed of the woman) and his Father is God, The heavenly father brought his Son into the earth through the legal channel of being born of a woman. John 10:2

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. It was a man on the earth who gave the dominion and authority to Satan, so it must be a man on the earth to legally get that authority back. Jesus regained this authority for us when he triumphed over Satan and rose from the dead, and promptly handed this authority to us (his disciples).  Mt.28:18&19  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power (authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore …   Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave in order to restore us back into fellowship with the Heavenly Father and commissioned his body (us) to take this good news to the world. Jesus was anointed with Holy Ghost power when he was baptized in the river Jordan. Jesus did no miracles as a child or as a young man prior to being baptized in the river Jordan. Mt. 3:16 & 17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. God the Father, anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and with power to deliver and heal all that were oppressed of the devil. It is the anointing which overpowers all the work of the enemy. Every time we see the word Christ we need to think of the anointed one and his anointing. Today, believers who will submit to be messengers of this gospel, can be baptized with a measure of this same Holy Ghost power that Jesus was baptized with. John 3:34  For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

This same Holy Ghost anointing that Jesus was baptized with in the Jordan river is the same Holy Ghost that Jesus poured out on the day of Pentecost and still baptizes us with today. Mark refers to the anointing as virtue coming out of Jesus and healing the woman with the issue of blood.  Mark 5:30  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? If you follow this account through, you will find that many were pressing against Jesus, touching him with the touch of curiosity, but they did not receive. Dr. Luke refers to this anointing as the power of the Lord. Luke 5: 17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were

Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Again, note that only one was healed, yet the power (dunamis power) was present to heal them. This anointing is not just to heal the sick, but raise the dead, empower to prosper in every area. This includes supernatural debt cancellation and supernatural harvest! Holy Ghost baptism, virtue, power, are all referring to the anointing. Eph. 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power (dunamis) that worketh in us. As we enjoy this Christmas season let’s remember that the Christ is the anointed one and where he is the anointing abides. Beware of the anointing killers. Its not that the work of the devil is stronger than the power of God, its just that the Holy Ghost must be embraced in order for him to manifest himself. Notice on the day of Pentecost there were one hundred and twenty in one accord! These disciples had set aside every other chore and natural pleasure to obey the Lord’s command with one heart and mind. The spirit of the anti-christ is very much active in this world. 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that anti-christ (anti-anointing) shall come, even now are there many anti-christs; whereby we know that it is the last time. Are you in love with this world or are you in love with Jesus? It’s easy to tell what or who you are in love with by how you spend your time and money and the reason you do what you do. 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Lets not allow the anointing to be separated from us by putting our love and devotion on the creation rather than the creator. Let us not miss out on the blessings God has for us by not embracing them by faith. Remember the woman healed of the issue of blood. When she touched the hem of his garment the power of God flowed right into her healing her body. Everyone else that was pressing to touch him was touching to see if they might get something but she laid hold of the power of God by faith and took her healing. The paralyzed man that was carried to Jesus meeting by his four faith friends was lowered through an opening in the roof and received his forgiveness and his healing. What kind of friends do you hang out with? Would your friends have said, well I guess were out of luck today, we can’t get into the meeting because of the crowd. I hope your not hanging out with the ones who say, God won’t heal you, there’s no use going to that healing meeting. May be we should ask, what kind of friend am I?  Will I say, God will surely heal you and I will tear off the roof to help you get into the anointing. It may not be a literal roof we have to tear off, perhaps we need to tear off wrong thinking (the traditions of men). Casting down imaginations (thoughts that are contrary to what God has said) is something we must do for ourselves. Making the choice to believe in God’s goodness and mercy and taking the steps of action to receive (take) our provision. We are not taking it from God in the sense that he doesn’t want us to have it, but rather aggressively taking by faith what God has already generously provided for us.
