John 10:10 (B) I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I Came To Give You Life Abundantly : James L Lantz

We celebrate the coming of Jesus at Christmas time! The Messiah, our Redeemer, The Son of God, The sinless one, left His place in glory and took on flesh to give us life in abundance. It is crucial that Jesus was born of a virgin and became one of us since sin came through a man so redemption must also come through a man. Not just any man, but the sinless man Christ Jesus!  1 Tim. 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  There are some who say, he was a prophet, but do not believe that He is the Son of God who died for our sins and was raised from the dead for us to be made righteous. Some will say, I believe Jesus was a good man, or I believe in Jesus teachings, but you need to believe more than that in order to be right with God. You must believe that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God, born of a virgin, and raised from the dead for your justification.  2 John 1:7  For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.  As Jesus was hearing from His staff about who people thought He was and what they were saying about Him, He asked them, who do you say that I Am. Peter responded, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God! Jesus commended Peter for believing that which was revealed from heaven rather than human reasoning.  Matthew 16:17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.  The fact that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the author of life, guarantees that He has an abundance of eternal life to give!

Jesus came to give us eternal life of the God kind!  John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  This word life in the above verse is from the Greek word ZOE, meaning the God kind of life. God made provision for us to begin experiencing this abundant life immediately while here in this earth. Spending all of eternity with the Father, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and all of the saints is the most wonderful thing ever but God wants us to experience some heaven on earth now. The Holy Spirit was given as a down payment, a pledge, of the goodness of God to come through the ages!  Ephesians 1:14 AMPC  That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory.  Remember, an inheritance is meant to be received when the giver of the inheritance dies, not when we die!  Heb. 9:15 AMPC  For a will and testament is valid and takes effect only at death, since it has no force or legal power as long as the one who made it is alive.  Jesus has died and is risen from the dead, and is now the High Priest over our confession and the executor over His last will and testament. Jesus gave abundant life to all those who came to Him!  1 John 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  It’s so simple, if you have Jesus you have the God kind of life, if you don’t have Jesus then you don’t have the God kind of life. Some may be thinking, I have Jesus but it sure doesn’t look like I have the God kind of life. This abundant life needs to be received by faith and your expectation is your faith. If your expecting healing you’re not spouting off unbelief by continually testifying of what the devil has done. What your mind is on is what you are holding on to! The one looking to receive healing has their mind on what God has provided for them. He bore my sicknesses, He carried my pains!              1 Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  You have to get what Jesus did for you in the right tense! God can not answer a prayer that asks Him to do what He has already done! God’s healing power is inside the believer and needs to be received by faith.  Mark 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  How would you be serving God if you were healed? I am amazed at times how people think that their faith will work while they are living for themselves. The faith of God has not been given to try to bring about our own will but rather to embrace the abundant life and purpose to which we have been called.

The abundant life that Jesus gave us must be appropriated by faith and faith must be contended for!  Jude 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God! The devil fights hard to keep us away from those who are feasting on the good word of God regularly and to keep us from our personal time of reading and meditating God’s word. His main tactics are bringing trouble, persecution, cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things to try to get our eyes off of Jesus, the Word. Our job is to overcome all of the trouble and temptations by faith!  1 John 5:4 WNT  For every child of God overcomes the world; and the victorious principle which has overcome the world is our faith.  Fighting the good fight of faith is the only fight we should be involved in! Our fight is not with people but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The good news is that Jesus has already spoiled principalities and powers and made a public show of them! Jesus destroyed satan’s power when He gave His life for us and arose from the dead!  Hebrews 2:14  For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  We are not actually fighting the devil to try to defeat him because Jesus already defeated him. Our fight is to get in faith and then our fight is to stay in faith! The wrestling that is mentioned in Ephesians 6 is the demons struggling to get us off of our faith through temptations and bringing uncomfortable circumstances into our life. As we become more skillful in using the sword of the Spirit (praying and speaking what God said) we will experience victory upon victory!

Abundant Life includes the following!

1. Spending eternity with the Lord Jesus! 1 Thess. 4:17 . . . and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
2. Love, Joy, and Peace! Gal. 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace . . .
3. Victory over death, hell, and the grave! Col. 2:15 . . . he made a shew of them openly, triumphing . . .
4. The help of the Holy Spirit!
John 14:16 AMPC And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor,
Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever.
5. Wisdom from above! 1 Cor. 1:30 . . . Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, . . . 6. Forgiveness from all your iniquities! Ps. 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities . . .
7. Healing of all your diseases! Ps. 103:3 . . . who healeth all thy diseases
8. Healing for the brokenhearted! Luke 4:18 . . . to heal the brokenhearted . . .
9. Abundance to meet every need! Rom. 8:32 . . . with him also freely give us all things?
10. Desires Fulfilled! Mark 11:14 . . . What things soever ye desire . . .

Our God Is A God Of Abundance!

Our God feeds every living thing! Trees, plants, fowls, fish, and animals all reproduce after their own kind creating an on going source of food supply for people whom God loves! As long as the earth remains there will be seed time and harvest. God gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater and multiplies that which is sown! He spreads a table for us here, in the presence of our enemies! The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want! What soever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them! Jesus came to give us an abundant life! God meets our needs according to His riches in glory! Take Him at His word because He can not lie. Romans 8:32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?  Don’t let your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Jesus! He didn’t become poor so we could become poor. He became poor so we could become rich! Those of this world have a saying, seeing is believing, but God says, believe to see.  Psalms 27:13  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

As we partner with God’s Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers in building and expanding the kingdom of God we become partakers of their grace! Joining faith with those who have a kingdom assignment allows us to experience of their grace!  Rom. 5:17  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

We Are Grateful For God’s Guidance And Favor In 2024!

What a glorious year this was! We experienced some delays and surprises and yet many victories for Gods people! We saw God’s mighty hand of favor in our quest for a driveway permit from PennDot and their willingness to guide us in the project. The Lord helped us keep things moving forward. We were able to complete the macadamed part of our driveway entrance prior to Octorara’s first day of school. PRAISE THE LORD! We persevered through a very dry spell to get our newly planted grass growing. Our well held up strong but we did have to replace our holding tank and pressure gauge. Currently we are working with our architect, and design professionals concerning storm water management for our driveway and parking lot and sanctuary area. We are truly grateful to those who have come alongside us in preparing our hearts and buildings for God’s glory to shine brighter among us! There is still much to do as we prepare for this third great awakening which is already upon us! We welcome you who are watching to join us in our pursuit in preparing for God’s great harvest!
