It’s All Yours! : By Pastor Lantz

God confirms again and again that He has given His children every good thing when He gave us Christ.  Rom. 8:32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Don’t try to spiritualize things, just believe in God’s goodness and believe what He said! Remember Jesus words, Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  Peter writes that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue. God is no respecter of persons and all the promises of God belong to every person who will receive them. Let’s be reminded of Jesus exhortation about the least person in the kingdom of God being greater than the greatest prophet, John the Baptist. God tells us again in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians that every promise of God is ours in Christ.  2 Cor. 1:20 NKJ  For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.  When you ask children, if God cleanses you from all sin, how much sin remains, they will tell you none. Why do adults struggle to understand that God cleanses from all unrighteousness when they confess their sins to Him?  1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  God doesn’t exaggerate nor stray one iota from the truth. God only tells the truth, He can not lie! Jesus said, I Am the Truth. The Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Spirit of Truth. God forgives all who confess their sin to Him from a repentant heart and He has given all the promises of God to us through Christ Jesus!

Beware of the philosophies and traditions of men which disallow the goodness and power of God which has become ours in Christ.  Col. 2:8 NKJ  Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. It seems that all to often the devil is successful in finding someone who will open their mouth and spew out his unbelief. They will say, God might not forgive you this time, or God doesn’t heal everyone, or you are to far gone to ever recover, or you are getting what you deserve, or you must have committed the unpardonable sin. ( The unpardonable sin is only possible by someone who walked with the Lord progressing from being aware of their lost condition, to receiving Jesus, to being filled with the Holy Spirit, and tasting of the good word of God and the power of Spirit and then to say I don’t want Jesus any more. This person has no desire to repent and be forgiven. see Hebrews 6:4-6 ) We have witnessed what Paul called a feigned faith by some in the church. Feigned faith is a fake or insincere faith which is all talk but no action. Our faith must be real, it must be in our mouth and in our heart in order to receive the promises of God!

Jesus taught with parables, revealing what the kingdom of God is like through telling a natural story people can relate to. Luke records Jesus parable revealing our heavenly Father’s
great love and mercy towards His children. The two sons portrayed in this parable reveal how carnal thinking is so far beneath the exceeding good plan God had for them. The younger son wanted his inheritance now so the father divided unto them his living. The younger son gathered his portion and traveled to a far country where he wasted his portion with riotous living. When he spent all that he had there came a famine on the land. The only job he could find was feeding pigs. He was in such want and hunger that he desired to eat the husks that the hogs were eating and no man gave unto him. “Here’s a truth, where God does not guide `He does not provide.” This young man remembered that his father’s servants had plenty to eat, so he humbled himself and set out for home expecting to be one of his father’s servants. As the account unfolds we see the father’s great desire and compassion for his son and the son’s repentance.  Luke 15:22-24  But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.  The elder brother, who was out in the field, heard the music and the dancing and called one of the servants to ask what this was about. When he heard of his father’s goodness in welcoming the younger son home he was angry and refused to join the celebration. His father came out and urged him to come and celebrate his brother’s return. He proceeded to tell the father why he didn’t think this was right. He said, I’m the one who stayed with you and did what I was told and you never gave me a kid that I might make merry with my friends. When this son of yours, who wasted your substance on harlots comes, you kill the fatted calf. What the father said next reveals what our heavenly Father has done for us!  Luke 15:31&32  And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found So many truths revealed in this parable. The Father’s watchfulness over His children, His compassion and benevolence, His response to the repentant one, and His exhortation to the one who is missing out. What manner of love is this that the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God!
