Proclaim Liberty! By James L Lantz
We should not be shocked when people scoff at or even hate us for proclaiming that God wants people to be free. Jesus Himself was not received in His own home town when He proclaimed that the anointing of God was on Him to prosper, to heal, to deliver, to restore, and to set at liberty those who were bruised. Luke 4:18&19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. We should take note that Jesus didn’t believe in this non confrontational, no fault religion like some do today. Jesus rebuked their unbelief by prophesying their choice of words in telling Him to prove that He is anointed! Luke 4:23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. Jesus home town people became very angry when He mentioned that God could not find one widow woman in all of Israel who believed in the anointing that was on Elijah in the days of the famine. Jesus followed that up with the fact that God again had to go outside of Israel to find a leper who would receive healing through the anointing on the prophet Elisha. God wants people free from sin, sickness, and poverty, and everyone who believes will be made free! The unbelief of others cannot stop your faith from being effectual. The unbelief of others can cause delay, as in the case of Joshua and Caleb, but it didn’t stop God from bringing them into the promised land. Rom. 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. Paul writes that the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Cor. 3:17 WNT Now by “the Lord” is meant the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, freedom is enjoyed. Jesus said that His words are spirit and life! James refers to the word of God as being the perfect law of liberty! James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Christ has set us free from sin and all of the curse of the law! We are not free to serve ourselves nor the lusts of our flesh but free to serve our Lord and our Master, Jesus. Gal. 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
FREEDOM AND RESTORATION FROM THAT WHICH WAS LOST!
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
1. FREED FROM ADAM’S SIN! Jesus reversed the curse that came through Adam’s disobedience!
God made man and placed him in the garden that He had prepared for him and assigned him
to dress it and keep it. God told Adam that he may eat freely of every tree in the garden except the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You shall not eat of that tree because the day you eat of it
you shall surely die. Gen. 3:6 . . . she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto
her husband with her; and he did eat. Because Adam hearkened to the voice of his wife and not
to the commandment of the Lord the curse came on them. Our merciful God sent Jesus to suffer
our punishment and redeem us from the curse of the law. Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed
us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
hangeth on a tree: Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus supersedes the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. We proclaim with our mouth and believe
in our heart that which Christ has purchased for us and then it becomes ours!
2. FREEDOM FROM CORPORATE OR COLLECTIVE SINS OF MAN!
God’s provides His people with supernatural protection and deliverance through faith and
prayer! Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast and prayed to the Lord when a huge enemy army came
against Judah. 2 Chron. 20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD:
even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. They believe the word that the
Lord gives them, follow His instructions, and receive a great victory! The Lord fought this battle for
them and slew all of the enemy and none escaped. This victory gave them abundance of riches as
they spent three days in gathering up all the spoils. The spirit of the antichrist has been working for
many years endeavoring to remove all traces of God and His anointing from the earth. Satan, has
sought and found those who would seek to separate people from hearing the word of God, hearing
about the patriarch’s of old, and hearing about God in the United States of America. Our enemies
know the only way to conquer America is to weaken us from within. Much ground has been lost to
the enemy of our souls in the last hundred years, however, there’s an awakening taking place
today. Many of God’s people are humbling themselves in prayer, seeking God’s face, turning from
their wicked ways, and speaking restoration over our land. ( 2 Chronicles 7:14 )
3. FREEDOM FROM PERSONAL SINS!
When a person becomes enlightened to their lost condition, recognizes Jesus as the Savior,
turns from their sin and proclaims Jesus as their Lord they are made free from sin. John 8:36 If
the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. If we do what we should not do or
neglect doing that which we know to do our fellowship with the Father is broken and needs to be
restored. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our righteousness is a gift that God gives to all who believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ and is held through a pure conscience and fellowship with the Father. We
must guard against unnecessary involvements and unauthorized expenditures which the enemy
uses to steal our time and resources. Anyone who has been ensnared by sin or debt can be freed.
There is no sin to big or case to hard for our God who redeems and restores. First we confess our
sin, receive our forgiveness and turn away from the sin. Now it is time to proclaim that we are free!
Proclaim who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, and what you can do in Christ! John 8:31
. . . If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:32 And ye shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The Lord will lead us into our wealthy place!
“Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”
