Exodus 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
From No To Go! By James L Lantz
We are privileged and gifted to have a book called the Bible in which God details with actual accounts, parables, and commandments of that which He requires! There will be no room for excuses on judgement day because the existence of the Creator is clearly seen and understood through all that He made. Rom. 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: The Holy Spirit has also been sent to teach us all things and bring all things that Jesus spoke to our remembrance! John 14:26 ESV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Plus, God gives ample opportunity for each of His children to receive abundance of grace and if needed we are empowered to make adjustments to get us back on track. In receiving communion we are reminded of that which God has abundantly provided for us through Christ Jesus
In Covenant We Commit Our All To The Other!
and exhorted to keep our part of the covenant. 1 Cor. 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. Before 1 Corinthians was written there were those who would judge themselves and avoid judgement. Jesus told of the man with two sons who came to the first, saying, go work in my vineyard today. This son said, I will not, but afterward repented and went. He came to his second son saying the same thing. This son said, I go sir, but did not go. We understand that Jesus was emphasizing the Father’s expectation for His sons and daughters to do the work required for the gospel to be preached to the whole world. Mt. 21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. The first son changed his no to go and did the will of his father. Be a doer of the word of God and please your heavenly Father!
Our response to God’s call means everything concerning our future with Him! Jesus told parables giving insight and understanding of how things work in the the Kingdom. There was a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son who sent servants to call those who were invited to the wedding but they would not come. The King sent out other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, Look, I have prepared my dinner, the oxen and fatted cattle are killed, everything is ready! Come to the wedding! They would not come because they considered the plans of the King to be of little value and some of them killed the King’s messengers. Matthew 22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Jesus went on to explain that those who refused to come were not worthy and that the King then sent his servants out to the highways to compel people to come and the wedding was furnished with guests! This parable perfectly illustrates the importance of putting God’s priorities first place and valuing Jesus and eternal life above all else! 1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. There is still time for those who have been saying no to go!
Faith requires action! Jesus said, those who are not with Me are against Me and he that refuses to help Me gather is actually scattering. Luke 11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. If you listen to the devil and your lazy flesh they will tell you that if you don’t kill anybody and don’t curse God you are gonna be ok. Jesus own brothers would not help Him in His earthly ministry until after He was raised from the dead! At one gathering the multitude that sat around Jesus said that His mother and His brothers were calling for Him. His answer goes against many peoples traditions. He said, Who is My mother and My brethren? He looked around at those who were seated near Him, and said, Behold, these are My mother and My brothers. His brothers did not believe He was the Messiah and His mother was not acting like it at the moment. The appropriate action would have been to do what Peter and John did by putting their agenda aside and helping with the work of God. Mark 3:35 ESV For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother. Another time a woman interrupted His teaching speaking loudly, saying, Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breast at which you nursed. Luke 11:28 ESV But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Jesus wanted to emphasize that the blessing comes on everyone who hears the word of God and does it. Mary was chosen because she was a doer of the word. That is easily seen by how she responded to the angel saying that she had found favor with God. She found favor with God by being a doer of the word and her response to God’s message was, yes, I am yours! Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. Saying yes to the Lord brings blessing!
Sins of omission are happening every day and they can be just as damming as sins committed. The big omission would be to reject Jesus, The One whom God sent to save us from our sins. Those who refuse to believe and have no time for the Lord will be lost. Refusing to repent, refusing to love, refusing to forgive, and refusing to give can cost us our life. The law of God requires that we love our neighbor as ourself. Jesus told how a certain man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho was wounded and robbed and left to die. A certain priest (preacher) came along who upon seeing him passed by on the other side. Then a Levite (church worker) came along who stopped and looked at him but passed by him on the other side also. A traveling Samaritan had compassion when he saw him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he paid the innkeeper to care for this man, saying, I will repay you for any additional cost when I come again. Luke 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. Another eye opening account of how God sees the sin of omission is found in the parable of the talents. Mt. 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. The man traveling into a far country represents Jesus leaving and giving talents to each one according to our ability. The one who refused go and do something with that which was given to him judged his master to be harsh, unfair, and one who reaps where he has not sown. Every thing that was made was made by Him and for Him plus God is a rewarder to all who believe and obey! The psalmist writes of the wicked who say, our lips are our own, who is Lord over us. The Lord judged the servant who refused to go and do, saying take it from him and give it to the one who has ten and cast that wicked servant into outer darkness. Remember christian, we are not our own, we are bought with a price and brought into the Kingdom of God for such a time as this! God is a rewarder of those who believe and obey Him and He is merciful to those who repent and determine to do that which is right! We forsake the sin of omission by confessing it to the Lord and purposing to do that which is right!

We Get To Chose The Direction Of Our Country!
It is both a great privilege and a sacred duty to be able to choose the leaders of our country. Our nation was founded by those who desired to be free to worship the great God of heaven and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ! Those who were alive during Jesus earthly ministry had no opportunity to vote for their leaders. They were under Kings and Queens who passed the leadership down to their children. I believe with all my heart that the people of God would have exercised the privilege to choose their leaders if they could have. John the baptist called unfaithfulness in marriage a sin! Jesus said that He came to give life and give it more abundantly! God doesn’t believe in communism, marxism, or socialism as He rewards those who diligently seek Him and resist the proud. Paul wrote that if you have an opportunity to be free, take it! God is against violence and Jesus doesn’t like it either. The great flood was brought on by the great amount of violence and wickedness in the world. We know that sin and lawlessness is going to abound more and more in these last days before Jesus returns but that does not mean that we are to just lay down and let the devil take over. We are to occupy until Jesus returns. We that have Jesus are the salt and light of this world! Mt. 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. It is our responsibility to cast out demons and resist the devil everywhere we have jurisdiction. That starts with what we allow into our minds and what we meditate on and what we say and then do. We have dominion in our homes, church’s, school districts, our towns, our state, and even our United States. Mt. 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
We know that righteousness exalts a nation while sin brings reproach to it. When we vote for the candidate who’s platform promotes righteousness or most closely holds to righteousness we will be taking a stand against evil. The Psalmist says, it is time for you, Lord, to work, for they have made void your law! The Lord works through His people! Cast your vote for the candidates that align closest to God’s platform!
