Jonah 2:7 AMPC When my soul fainted upon me [crushing me], I earnestly and seriously  remembered the Lord; and my prayer came to You, into Your holy temple.

Before The Power Flows!  By James Lantz

Jonah knew who to call on for mercy and deliverance when he was entrapped at the bottom of the sea. Jonah remembered that his God was the Almighty who had made the dry land and the sea.  Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly, and the Lord heard him and spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. The Spirit of God reveals what Jonah did before God’s power was unleashed on his behalf! We know that faith, the currency of heaven, had to be released before God’s power could flow in answer to Jonah’s prayer because grace is received through faith. There are some other conditions that God requires that are just as necessary as believing with your heart and speaking with your mouth before His power is released. Jesus came preaching that we must repent and believe the gospel in order to enter the kingdom of God!  Mark 1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.  The Spirit of God through Paul revealed that the very first doctrine of Christ is repentance from dead works.  Heb. 6:1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  Since Jonah had rebelled against his assignment to preach to the Ninevites he found himself needing to repent and submit to the will of God. To repent includes the meaning of being sorry for

Jonah Changed His Mind, His Will, And His Words Before The Power Flowed!

our previous position and to think differently. Isaiah reveals that a willing heart to do God’s will must be coupled with the act of obedience in order for the power to flow on our behalf.  Isaiah 1:19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:  God was gracious to Jonah and allowed him to have an additional three days and three nights to get willing so that he didn’t have to face Jesus on judgement day with the blood of those hundreds of thousands of Ninevites on his hands.  Paul declared that he was guiltless of all mens blood because he didn’t withhold anything from those whom God had him preach to.  Acts 20:26&27  Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.  For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.  Jonah knew what God requires, he is God’s prophet, and he submitted himself to the will of God and prayed. Jonah looked to God for mercy and refused to believe the lying vanity that said it was to late for God to help him now. Jonah believed God to be delivered from his captivity and began to offer up the sacrifice of thanksgiving and declared his obedience to God and that salvation is of the Lord!  Jonah 2:10  And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

Job was called an upright man who hates evil and yet deliverance didn’t come to him until he repented before God. Satan gained access into Job’s life through fear, bringing destruction on his business, death to his children, and sickness throughout his body.  Job 2:7  So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.  Job didn’t have a new testament to read that all this evil was put on him by the devil.  John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  It is difficult imagining any being so evil that the only reason he comes around is to steal, kill, and to destroy and how he does lie. He is still telling people today that same lie he told Eve, you won’t surely die. Satan disquises himself as an angel of light, enticing people to disregard God’s wisdom and to look and to feel of the temporary pleasure.  Job diligently sought to walk uprightly before the Almighty and defended his righteousness before his friends when they falsely accused him. In pleading his case before his friends, Job said, if only I had opportunity to plead my case before the Almighty I know He would put strength in me.  Job 23:4  I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.  Finally, after Job and his friends had their say, God spoke to Job from a whirlwind, saying, shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it.  Job 40:7  Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.  Job 40:8  Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?   God continued to question Job, Do you have an arm like Me, can you thunder with your voice or array yourself with glory and beauty? Can you look on the proud and bring him low and tread down the wicked? If you can do all these things I will acknowledge that your own right hand can save you. Job recognized real quick that he should not have judged God  of being unjust and he repented!  Job 42:6  Wherefore I abhor myself, and

Job Repented For Judging God As Treating Him Unfairly!

repent in dust and ashes.  After Job repented, God spoke to his three friends that they needed to offer up seven bullocks and seven rams as a burnt offering for wrongfully accusing Job and that God would forgive them when Job prayed for them.  Job 42:10  And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

John Mark was privileged as a young man to be the son of a woman of faith who knew how to pray. Peter, upon being delivered from Herod’s prison by the angel, chose to go to Mary’s house first where they were praying for him.  Acts 12:12 NLT  When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer.  It is possible to grow up in the same household of someone who is strong in faith and not embrace that spirit of faith. Hagar lived close, or possibly in the same tent, with Abraham, the father of faith, and yet when she and Ishamel were sent away she was believing to die instead of what God had told her thirteen years earlier.  Gen. 16:9 NLT The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.”   Gen. 16:10 NLT Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.”   John Mark was privileged to assist Paul and Barnabas on a missionary trip but turned back partway through the trip. Later, Barnabas wanted to take John Mark on another trip with them, and Paul said no way, he wasn’t faithful the last time. Jesus expects us to be faithful to Him and warns against turning back.  Luke 9:62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.  Heb. 10:39  But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.  2 Peter 2:21 NLT  It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.  The good news about John Mark is that he obviously repented and became faithful as evidenced by Paul’s writing to Timothy.  2 Tim. 4:11  Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

The only way one can move from being unfit for the kingdom, and from loss and destruction is through repentance. Repentance is a precious gift from God!  2 Tim. 2:25  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  The power of God will flow for all who are cleansed of sin!

What Do I Need To Repent Of?

God is calling the church to repentance so He can restore our land!

(Things God Said To Do That I Am Not Doing) Or (Things God Said Not To Do That I Am Doing)

Put away your idols of alcohol, drugs, pornography, lying movies, lottery tickets, sweepstakes, etc.

Hosea 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The word destroyed in Hosea 4:6 above means to be dumb or silent according to Strongs concordance!

If we are silent and do not decree God’s word, Jesus will be hindered in His role of administering deliverance to us as the High Priest of our confession. This would be true in delivering us from Covid-19 and every evil thing! This would also be true in forgiveness of our sins according to 2 Chron. 7:14  and  1 John 1:9

A Call To Pray!

Jesus has authorized His body, the church to pray in His name and exercise dominion over the evil spirits who are bringing havoc to our land.  Mt. 28:18&19 .  .  .  All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore .  .  .  ( Also Mark 16:15-18 )  Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!  Mt. 16:19  And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

       God wants to heal our land but He needs us to humble ourselves and pray! We can’t do it in and of ourselves but God can and will as we work together with Him through prayer and action.  2 Chron. 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Repentance is a precious gift that God gives to the world and to His people who have erred. We don’t have to make it difficult, if we have been walking after the flesh, confess it to God, stop it, and begin to walk in the Spirit. We must also give God’s word first place in our lives in order to successfully walk in the Spirit. God’s word is not just informational but it is spirit and life to us. God’s words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh! If we have been doubting God’s willingness and His ability to deliver us, we need to stop the unbelief, and believe. If we have not been praying for our leaders and our fellow man, we must repent, and begin to pray. If we have not obeyed God’s command to be filled with the Spirit, we should ask Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Praying with other tongues is a special gift that God gave to the church so that we can pray perfect prayers when we don’t know what we should pray for as we ought. The Spirit of God, through Paul, exhorts us to pray first of all for all men, including kings and those in authority, so that God can intervene in the affairs of men and cause us to experience peace.  1 Tim. 2:1&2  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.   Eph. 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

The following five Ephesian scriptures flow together revealing our place in Christ!

( Ephesians 1:3,  1:20,  2:6,  3:10,  6:12 )

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The evil one wants to destroy this nation and take away the christians right to gather and pray.

God is calling us to fast and pray for the healing of our nation and that righteous leaders and judges might be elected and brought into positions of power to restore our nation under God and to preserve our freedoms!

Pro. 29:2  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
