The power of one! by James Lantz
Many of us are aware of how the power of God is multiplied when two or more believers agree together! The scripture declares that the Lord commands the blessing on us when we dwell together in unity! Ecc.4:9-12 Two are better than one . . . and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Jesus declared that if two of us believers would agree on earth as touching any thing (touch it with our faith) that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. God is so pleased for believers to unite that he will do more for them as their love and care for one another is demonstrated through agreement. In warfare you set out to divide the enemy forces and cut off their supply line which eventually causes them to fall. We are not ignorant of how the devil works, to try to get us offended or distracted so we stop going to church and quit feeding on the bread of life. The early church went from addition to multiplication as the word of God was taught on a daily basis in the temple and from house to house. Acts 6:1 And in those days (days the word was taught daily), when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Of course the devil tried to stop the word from being preached daily by bringing offense but, as always, the wisdom of God was to much for him. In these last days you are going to see the glorious church arise and many are going to
Multiplication takes place in the church as His word is magnified!
feed daily on God’s anointed word and God’s servants and handmaids will do exploits by the power of the Holy Spirit. Their is an anointing that God brings to the church corporately that is beyond what we can experience individually.
God does not leave anyone out! If you are one of those who does not have a believing spouse or believing family or friends to believe with you, know that God will make a way for you. God is looking for those who will believe him so he can unleash his mighty power on their behalf. Eph. 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, There is no such thing as anyone crying out to God in faith from a pure heart and God ignoring their cry. When I say from a pure heart, I am referring to a humble repentant heart that will do what God says. Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. God will not ridicule or ignore us, no matter how evil, careless, or ignorant we have been in the past. God has chosen to put our punishment on His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and give us the same right standing with himself that Jesus has. 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. God has always been a gracious, loving, merciful God! God has not changed in this day of grace that we live in, but more grace has been made available through Christ Jesus. Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Even before this new covenant God would always save and deliver those who would believe him. Faith pleases God!
Rahab was a liar and a prostitute, but she believed that the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses would accept her if she served him. I don’t suppose that Rahab had a husband seeing the profession she was in, but Rahab’s faith in God saved not only her but those who believed her. Heb. 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. How do you read that? I read that scripture to say that God would have granted mercy to each and everyone that died in that Jericho massacre if they would have believed God and acted accordingly. The power of one woman’s faith affected her parents and brothers being spared and continue’s to affect believer’s today through her part in the ancestry of Jesus. When we meet Rahab in heaven we are not to call her Rahab the harlot but rather Rahab the overcomer. The power of one persons act of faith can and will save themselves and many others.
One persons faith will bring salvation to themselves and future generations!
God called a man named Moses to deliver his people, Israel, from Egyptian slavery. Moses said to God, who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel from Egypt. God said to Moses, certainly I will be with you! It is not a matter of who you are but rather who is with you! Moses grew up in a rich family of heathens but decided he would rather suffer afflictions with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Moses made a decision to flee the pleasures of sin and serve God before God called to him from the burning bush! Rahab and Moses made their decision to serve God in the midst of ungodly and lonely circumstances. You may be in this position, where it looks like you have none to help you. God himself will help you when you exercise your executive right to choose Him. Acts 2:21 . . . whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Psalms 34:6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Jer. 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. This grace of God bothers some folks, but when we understand that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard we greatly appreciate this grace. The clearer we see that we deserve none of God’s grace, the more eager we are to extend grace to others. The proud get resisted but the humble receive more grace. Mt. 19:26 . . . With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Satan had sent his messenger (a demon), to stir up trouble and persecution everywhere the Apostle Paul went, to try to stop this powerful and popular minister from evangelizing the world. 2 Cor. 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. Paul sought the Lord three times, asking God to remove this devil from stirring up riots and storms and all kinds of problems. The Lord said, my grace is sufficient for you. I don’t know how anyone could interpret this passage to say that God said you just have to suffer with your problems. No, God said his grace was sufficient, meaning that Jesus had already defeated death, hell, and all of Satan’s power and it was Paul’s job to take dominion over his circumstances in the name of Jesus. I know that many have been indoctrinated with the teaching that whatever happens is not my fault and there is nothing that I can do about it. I call this no fault religion. The New Testament teaches personal responsibility and that we are to resist the devil and he will flee from us. Paul sure learned how to use the spiritual weapons that we have in Christ because he was victorious over every thing the devil threw at him. 2 Tim. 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Jesus told Paul at his conversion that he would have to stand (testify) before kings one day. He writes of standing trial and none of the believers would stand with him. 2 Tim. 4:16&17 Amp. At my first trial no one acted in my defense (as my advocate) or took my part or (even) stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the (Gospel) message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was delivered out of the jaws of the lion.
When our Lord Jesus Christ cried out from that place on the cross, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me, we understand that Jesus was on his own. Isaiah prophesied how Jesus would bear our diseases and carry our pains so we could be healed and pain free. Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. God was pleased that Jesus could suffer for us and also suffered greatly in hell for three days and nights until justice was satisfied. (See Ps. 22 , Isaiah 53 , Mt. 8:17 , Mt. 12:40 & 1 Pet. 2:24) Heb. 1:1-3 God . . . hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son . . . who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high God did not leave Jesus in hell but raised him from the dead by his mighty power so you and I could be raised up together with Christ and seated together with Christ in heavenly places. Some things we have to do alone! We have to choose eternal life for ourselves and one day we will stand alone before the Lord to give account of our work on earth. Thank God we are not alone after we make Jesus the Lord of our life! Heb. 13:5&6 A.S. Worrell Let your disposition be without fondness for money; content with the present things; for He Himself hath said, “I will in no-wise leave you, neither will I in any wise forsake you.” So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid; what shall man do to me?” God said, fear not for I am with you, don’t be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. (see Isaiah 40:29-31 & 41:10) Just as with Moses and Paul, God has said to each and every believer, I will go with you, my grace is sufficient for you to win every time!
