Two major parts to walking in God’s Blessing! By James Lantz
The blessing of the Lord is available to all who pursue a right relationship with God! What the first Adam forfeited for the lust of his flesh, was restored through the second Adam (the Lord Jesus Christ). 1 Cor. 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. God has demonstrated his great love for us in sending his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. When that great heavenly host of angels appeared to the shepherds, praising and glorifying God, saying peace on earth, good will toward men, they were not saying there would never be any more war. They were declaring God’s message, that man (those who accept Jesus) would no longer be an enemy to God. Jesus is God’s gift to the world and with Jesus comes the blessing of the Lord. Salvation through Jesus Christ is a package deal. We get all of Him as we give all of ourselves. James 1:17&18 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth (Jesus), that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. The first major part to walking in the blessing of the Lord is God’s part. God is the one who decided to redeem man from his sin before the foundation of the world. 1 Peter 1:18-23 . . . foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by him (Jesus) do believe in God, that raised him from the dead, . . . Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. God is the one who laid our punishment on Jesus. God is the one who chose to give us the blessing that only Jesus deserves. The first major part to walking in the Blessing of the Lord is God’s part. God alone has provided and will perform his part!
God will surely preform what he has decreed!
- The Blessing of the Lord has been predetermined for all from before the foundation of the world.
- The Blessing of the Lord is made available to us through Christ Jesus! Galatians 3:13&14
- The Blessing is way beyond what we could have asked for or even have imagined!
( Rom. 5:17 Rom. 8:32 Eph. 1:3-11 Eph. 1:17-23 Eph. 3:16-20 )
– The Blessing will be granted totally on a gift basis, completely separate from our ability to earn it.
Rom. 4:6 & Eph. 2:8&9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
- The Blessing of the Lord is sure to all who believe. There is no possibility that God is unable to
preform his word for you! Rom. 10:11 . . . Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
( Psalms 23:6 Num. 11:23 2 Cor. 1:20 Hebrews 6:14-18 )
- The Blessing includes promised land living here in this earth and reigning with Christ in the future!
( Col. 1:12 3 John 2 Rom. 5:17 Rom. 15:29 1 Tim. 6:17 Rev. 5:10)
The second major part to walking in the blessing of the Lord is our part. God is so good that he did all the hard part for us. He sent Jesus to die for our sins, to suffer with our sicknesses, and to bear our punishment. Jesus arose from the dead destroying Satan’s power and delivering us from the grip and power of sin, sickness, and poverty. It should not seem strange to us that we have a part to do in obtaining the blessings provided for us in our covenant with God. God keeps it real simple by offering the blessing of the Lord by faith. No one can ever say to the Lord, you demanded something from me that I was unable to give. Creation itself proves that there is a creator and our hearts know there will be a day of accountability. Faith comes by hearing the anointed word of God. The flip side of this is that doubt comes by hearing the devil’s lies. God requires that we believe and then speak our faith before the blessings are manifested into the realm of the natural. Faith must be in two places, in our heart and in our mouth. Rom. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. In this scripture we see God’s part is to save ( also heal, deliver, preserve, prosper) us while our part is to believe and to say that we are saved. When we believe what God said, our focus will be on doing our part, because God will do his part. Our part of
Faith acts on what God said, knowing God will do his part!
walking in the blessing of the Lord is not our works trying to get God to bless us but rather steps of faith in obedience to the Lord. There is a huge difference between you holding out your hand and demanding that I give you one hundred dollars, and you reaching out your hand to receive a hundred dollar bill that I have willingly extended toward you. Our part is to take steps of obedience in response to what God said. Healing, like salvation, is an established part of our covenant blessing! 1 Pet. 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. God’s part was to send Jesus to take those stripes for our healing and count Jesus resurrected life as ours. Our part is to die to sins and live unto righteousness, taking our healing by faith. Failure to take our healing is either a lack of faith or a lack of yieldedness. If we are not in faith, we can listen to the anointed word of the Lord, and faith will come. Unwillingness is also something that we can correct. Dr. Luke writes that an honest and good heart is one that has heard the word and keeps it, bringing forth a harvest with patience. You know as well as I do, we are not going to do what the Bible says unless we believe God will reward us. We most likely will not be excited about doing God’s word until we are totally convinced that doing it his way brings blessing. Dr. Luke records that the multitudes came to hear and to be healed. Our part is to come and to hear, God’s part is to heal. John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Notice that three out of the four things mentioned in this verse is our part. We are to abide (live) in the Lord and see to it that his words are alive in us. God’s word is alive and as we meditate on this powerful word, faith is produced in our spirit just like churning milk produces butter. When faith is present in our heart, then we ask God for that thing we desire of him and take steps of faith, believing that we receive that in which we have asked for. We don’t have to make it come to pass, our part is to believe that we receive!
Prophecy: In August, 2003 Bro. Kenneth E. Hagin prophesied about how you can be sure to be a part of this present day, end time revival. “ Sit and say let it come and nothing will happen but rejoice and arise and leap into the water to swim and the rain will come and the glory will fall and the healings will come! “
