Why He came! By James Lantz
The Lord himself has said, I am come that they (those who receive Him) might have life and have it more abundantly! John 10:10 Amp. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). The word life used in this verse comes from the greek word zoe, meaning the God kind of life. The fullness of all that Jesus brings to us will be revealed throughout the ages but the down payment became ours upon being sealed by the Holy Spirit. Eph. 1:14 Which is the earnest (down payment, security deposit, or advance) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. The more grace that we tap into here on earth the better we will enjoy our life and multiply our impact for God’s kingdom. Some of us are pursuing this glorious life of God that Jesus brought us. Jesus came to bring peace between God and man, ending the feud. He restored the glory to man that Adam lost in his transgression. He came to be the sacrificial lamb that Isaiah spoke of, fulfilling the will of His Father. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, bringing both Jew and Gentile into one body through his resurrection from the dead. (Eph. 2:11-18) The beloved apostle John sums it up by stating God’s purpose for Christ coming to the earth was to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 Amp. . . . The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. Jesus accomplished his mission by conquering death, hell, and the grave. The Father has exalted Jesus to sit at his right hand and placed

everything under his feet. Eph. 1:20-21 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: This includes dominion over Satan, governments, death, sickness, lack and all of the curse that came on man through sin. Nothing was left out from being put under Jesus feet and under his name other than the Father himself. 1 Cor. 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he (God) is excepted, which did put all things under him. (also John 10:29 & Eph. 4:6)
The really good news is that Jesus has put Satan, spiritual death, governments, sicknesses, accidents, poverty and every part of the curse under his feet for you and for me! Jesus was one with God before he laid aside his God powers and became a man. (John 1:1 & Phil.2:7) Adam delivered to Satan the dominion and authority over the earth that God meant for man to have forever. This is why Jesus did not argue the point with Satan when Satan offered Jesus all the authority over the earth and the glory of it. Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. Jesus was offered a shortcut that would have given him part of what he came for without having to go to the cross and fulfill the will of His Father. Many people take the devil’s offer to have a little bit of pleasure for a moment but lose the big reward of fulfilling the Father’s will. Carnal, fleshly people forfeit tomorrow for today! Jesus was not about to abort his mission to destroy the works of the devil because, if He did, you and I would still be lost in our sins. The dominion of this world was handed to Satan by a man and only by a man could this dominion be returned to man. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: This is why Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Through the fall of man sin entered into the earth and had dominion over man. But through the second Adam, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us
The law of the Spirit of life supersedes the law of sin and death!
free from the law of sin and death. Rom. 8:1&2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. I’ll tell you what, I just preached myself happy preparing this message for you! Glory to God! You might be thinking, preacher, it don’t look to me like the works of the devil have been destroyed. It looks to me like the devil is taking over this earth, many who claim to love God are loving pleasure more than loving God. The ungodly don’t even want you to mention God or what He said. Well, don’t be moved by what you see. The Holy Spirit is working mightily in the earth today. Years ago the prophet Elijah was greatly discouraged and was telling God he was the only one being zealous towards him. God said, I have seven thousand in the land of Israel who have not bowed the knee to Baal. The scripture tells us that the last enemy, physical death, has not been put under foot yet. Very soon the trump of God will sound and we who are looking for our Lord’s return will be caught up together with him in the clouds. We will receive our new glorified bodies just like his body at that time. Satan will then soon be thrown into the bottomless pit for one thousand years, then loosed for a season, then returned to that pit of suffering for all of eternity. God has chosen to bring redemption to man as a gift to everyone who will receive by faith. Gal. 3:13 &14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. We believe before we see. So many of God’s people who believe their name is in the book of life (with out seeing) are refusing to believe that they were healed by Jesus stripes until they see or feel that they are healed. We have all been there, wanting to see, hear, feel or taste what God offers us before we believe that we have it. Jesus said that we are to believe that we receive them and then we will have them. Tithing teaches us the fear of the Lord. As we offer God our first tenth by faith, trusting Him to bring us the natural provisions that we need, we then receive supernatural provision. We enter into the Kingdom of God by faith and we walk in the things of the spirit by faith. Luke 17:20&21 . . . The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. When we believe that we received the answer to our prayer we will be excited, rejoicing, and thankful and serving God in our church.
The ten lepers didn’t wait till their leprosy was gone to do the Lord’s bidding!
Quit looking at your circumstances as being too sick, too far gone, too far in debt, too old, too alone. The same power that created the worlds and created you is ready and waiting to deliver you. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (spiritual death, sickness, and poverty). That same power (anointing) that was on Jesus as he stood to minister in his home town synagogue is here right now. The Holy Spirit is everywhere in this earth right now, ready to provide for the poor, to bring joy to the broken hearted, deliverance to the captive, sight to the blind, and to set at liberty them that are bruised. I don’t know how God will do it, but He will answer every heartfelt cry of faith because this is why He came! Usually, our first step is to make Jesus the Lord of our life. Often, when we cry out to him, he will show us something to do. Naaman the leper was cleansed when he did what the man of God said. The kingdom of God is ruled with the sceptre of righteousness. When we come to God, through Jesus righteousness, asking him for what Jesus purchased for us, the answer is always yes!
We would love to hear your testimony of how God blessed you or brought deliverance to you when you prayed.
